Description
The project involves the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of the Bistrica hydropower plant (HPP) in Serbia. The goal is to simulate the flow conditions and hydraulic performance of the HPP using advanced CFD techniques. This modeling will help in understanding the hydrodynamic behavior of the plant, optimizing its design, and ensuring efficient operation.
The modeling process will encompass detailed analyses of two intake structures (upstream and downstream) as well as the newly designed embankment dam Klak with its Piano Key weir, stepped spillway and stilling basin. The project will utilize state-of-the-art CFD software Flow3D to create detailed simulations of the water flow, turbulence, and other relevant parameters. The results will provide valuable insights into the hydraulic performance of the Bistrica HPP, aiding in its design and operational efficiency.
